Mid-Week Cold Front
Tropical Disturbance in the Gulf
Discussion:
Clouds are increasing across the region this morning with temps in the upper 60s to lower 70s. We’ll see a bit of break in the cloud cover this afternoon with highs reaching the low to mid 80s. Instability will build with an upper level disturbance that will spark a few showers and storms. A few of these storms could pack a punch with damaging wind being the biggest concern this evening. Storms will begin to taper off after sunset but showers and a couple rumbles will linger this evening. Temps will remain warm and near average in the mid 80s Tuesday and Wednesday with more afternoon storm chances each day. A cold front will push into the region late week which will help to drop temps a few degrees back into the upper 70s. We’re watching the Gulf next with a disturbance that will likely develop in the next few days. Right now, models are projecting the path of this system to move inland over the Big Bend region of Florida Thursday. Locally, we could see heavy rain and gusty wind from this disturbance by Thursday night into Friday. It is something to watch and the forecast could change with any shifts in the Gulf over the next few days.
