Man dead after shooting in north Wichita, suspect in custody

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A man is dead after a shooting in north Wichita Sunday evening.
According to the Wichita Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of N. Inwood St. to an apartment complex regarding a shooting just before 5:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The suspect is in custody after turning themselves in.
The investigation is ongoing.

This is the second fatal shooting in less than 24 hours.
"Unfortunately, it was a very active weekend, and there has been two losses of life, you know, which is way too many for the city," said WPD Public Information Officer Kris Gupilan.
