RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The St. Benedict Oktoberfest took place in the Museum District this weekend, with music, drinks and Germain cuisine. People gathered at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Richmond from Sept. 20 to Sept. 22 for a free Oktoberfest that featured a stein-holding contest, child-friendly activities and German cuisine. PREVIOUSLY: Events celebrating Oktoberfest in the Richmond area Kellie Watts -- a resident who came out with her family to enjoy the festivities -- spoke with 8News about how she feels towards the celebration and what people can expect. "I think it's fun for everyone. Lots of good food to try, lots of nice people to meet, and just a really fun time. You can expect to hear some great music, see some traditional dancing. Our favorite, I think, is the beer stein-holding contests and a lot of good food," Watts said. Continue scrolling to see photos from the local festival.
