EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle in South-Central El Paso on Sunday evening, Sept. 22, El Paso Police said. The crash happened at Gateway East at Radford near Lincoln Park, police said. There is one confirmed fatality, and the Special Traffic Investigations Unit is on the scene. STI investigates crashes involving serious injuries or fatalities. Photos by Sebastian Esquivel/KTSM Police sent out an alert to local media about the crash at about 7:20 p.m. but did not say exactly when the crash happened. Police did not say who was killed in the crash. The crash happened near Lincoln Park, which hosted Lincoln Park Day on Sunday. Lincoln Park Day is a large celebration of Mexican-American culture that features a low-rider show and music. The celebration ended at 5 p.m. but lots of people were still seen at the park at the time of the crash. The Texas Department of Transportation said that Gateway East is closed at Radford because of the crash. Clearing time is until further notice. The nearby exit from Interstate 10 East onto Raynolds is also closed, TxDOT said. Sunday has been a busy day in El Paso as far as crashes. Early Sunday morning, four people were hurt in a crash along I-10 West at Redd. Sunday afternoon, four people were hurt, including two who suffered serious injuries, in an apparent wrong-way collision along Paisano West near Spur 1966 near UTEP.
