DICKINSON, ND (KXNET) — An investigation continues tonight into a crude oil tank fire that was reportedly caused by an explosion in Dickinson.
The fire happened earlier this week. The Dickinson Fire Department says it received an emergency call about a fire near 15th Street West and 40th Avenue West at an active oil site near the West Ridge Addition.
Nearby apartments and businesses, including the West Ridge Apartments and Family Fare supermarket, were temporarily evacuated.
It took firefighters about three hours to put out the fire. No one was injured in the fire.
Investigators say they're working to find out what triggered the explosion and the fire that resulted.
