COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A fire at a southeast Columbus junkyard that caused a large plume of smoke to pour into the sky since Friday is now extinguished. According to Columbus Division of Fire Batallion Chief Jeffery Geitter, as of Sunday night, the fire was out. Watch: Drone footage of Columbus industrial fire Firefighters have been on the scene of Columbus Auto Shredding on the 2100 block of Alum Creek Drive since approximately midnight Friday fighting the blaze in a pile of scrap metal, which at one point was 40 to 50 feet high. Geitter said crews would remain on the scene throughout the night to make sure there are no flare-ups. Alum Creek Road and Refugee Road in the area have both reopened.
