Posters of VP Kamala Harris, glass of Metro bus stop vandalized in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) --- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said posters of Kamala Harris and a Metro bus stop in Northwest were vandalized on Saturday morning.
Police said that at about 8:20 a.m., the suspect vandalized items and spray-painted offensive language in the 1100 block of P St.
According to the police report, the suspect went to a bar at the location and spray-painted over posters of Vice President Kamala Harris.
The suspect also wrote "Trump > Hitler" and "Harris = Hitler" on the glass of a Metro Bus stop near the establishment.

MPD is investigating this offense as a potential hate or bias crime. Police said this can change as they investigate and gather more information.
A designation as a hate crime by MPD does not mean that prosecutors will prosecute it as a hate crime, according to MPD.
The Special Liaison Branch is helping with the investigation.
