MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Several families were displaced after a fire erupted at an apartment complex in Bethesda on Sunday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).
In a post on X at 4:23 p.m., MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said there was a fire on the second floor of Village Square/Bethesda Park apartments on Crossfield Court and that residents were evacuating.

MCFRS said the fire likely started in the kitchen and extended into the walls.

Crews quickly got the fire under control, and no one was injured.
However, the fire displaced seven apartment units, affecting several families, according to Piringer.
