RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Happy first official day of fall everyone! Temperature wise it is certainly feeling like the new season outside today with 70s in many locations, but it is quite muggy outside still under lots of clouds. Sunday night into Monday morning, calls for partly cloudy skies initially transitioning back over to mostly cloudy skies overnight with mild overnight temperatures dipping down to 60 to 65 degrees. I also can’t entirely rule out spotty sprinkles prior to Midnight tonight as well in isolated locations. Monday to kick off the NEW work and school week, will be mostly cloudy with afternoon temperatures rising into the middle to upper 70s and isolated showers after 4 p.m. Those isolated showers will continue Monday night into Tuesday morning with continued mild conditions in the middle 60s by Tuesday morning. Tuesday and Wednesday will be carbon copies of one another with mostly cloudy skies, middle to upper 70s for high temperatures and isolated shower and storm chances. Thursday appears to be our next completely dry day across Central Virginia, under mostly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 80s. I put “watching closely” for Friday and Saturday, due to the possibility of lots of tropical moisture affecting Virginia at the end of this week from a possible tropical system which may or may not affect us depending on which computer weather forecast model you look at.
