BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The New Orleans Saints said all games wouldn’t be like the first two weeks. Sunday was an example of that, losing 15-12 to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Caesars Superdome. The Saints' offense took a big blow Sunday with tight end Taysom Hill being out with a chest injury and then on the third play of the game, losing center Erik McCoy to a groin injury.  McCoy’s injury caused Lucas Patrick to move from left guard to center and Oli Udoh to enter at left guard. The Saints offense struggled to move the ball without McCoy but were able to take a 3-0 lead on the first drive of the game from a Blake Grupe 31-yard field goal.  The New Orleans defense stepped up, forcing two turnovers in the first half - an interception in the endzone by safety Tyrann Mathieu and a sack-fumble forced by defensive end Carl Granderson that was recovered by linebacker Willie Gay, Jr.  The Saints led 3-0 at halftime and remained that way through the third quarter.  New Orleans had a chance to extend its lead in the fourth quarter, but failed to convert on fourth down in the red zone. On the ensuing Eagles possession, running back Saquon Barkley gashed the Saints defense for a 65-yard touchdown to give Philadelphia a 7-3 lead.  Southern University football defeats Prairie View A&M in overtime, 31-24 The Saints made it a 1-point game midway through the fourth quarter with a 38-yard Grupe field goal.  Quarterback Derek Carr threw a 13-yard pass to wide receiver Chris Olave, bringing the score to 12-7. Within the final minute of regulation, Eagles' Saquon Barkley scored a touchdown and converted the 2-point attempt to take the lead at 15-12.
