AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Temperatures in Austin returned to the upper 90s. Today was the 11th consecutive day of above-average temperatures in Central Texas. Camp Mabry clocked in at 98° and Austin-Bergstrom Airport reached 97°. Tonight, temperatures will cool down to the mid 70s with winds out of the southeast turning calm overnight. Isolated patchy fog can't be ruled out in the early morning hours tomorrow. The big weather headline in Texas is a cold front, well cool front is probably the more appropriate term for it. You'll notice a subtle pattern change in the air this upcoming week with high temperatures returning to seasonable conditions. Drier air will fill into our area late week which will provide a crisp feel during the morning hours. Tomorrow will deliver a mix of clouds and sunshine with high temperatures in the mid 90s. Winds will shift out of the north at around 5-10 mph. Cool front parks just to our north... The Hill County will likely be cooler tomorrow with high temperatures only reaching the upper 80s. An isolated shower can't rule out in the Austin area (10%). The highest rain chances will be northeast of Llano County (30%). There is no severe weather expected at this time. Widely-scattered rain chances will stick around Tuesday and Wednesday (30%). We've only had 2 days of measurable rainfall in Austin so far this month. Every drop counts! Tracking the Tropics The latest update from the National Hurricane Center identifies an area of low pressure as a high chance of development in the near future. Above-average sea surface temperatures, limited wind shear, and a front along the Gulf coast will allow this area to intensify to at least Tropical Storm strength this upcoming week. Many models are suggesting this area will likely turn into a hurricane so we'll continue to provide updates on our tropical timeline article. The latest area to watch in the Northern Caribbean...
