PENFIELD, N.Y. (WROC) – Mary Cariola Center hosted its 16th annual Walking On Sunshine at Penfield's Veteran's Memorial Park behind Penfield Town Hall on Sunday morning. The walk also has a silent auction, entertainment, time capsule and refreshments. Those at Mary Cariola Center say there is an enormous disparity between the actual cost of educating and caring for those we serve and the reimbursement rates. "Fundraising is crucial to the operation of the Mary Cariola Center," organizers said. Mary Cariola Center is a non-profit agency that serves people with intellectual, developmental disabilities and medical complexities on three different school campuses and six residential homes around Rochester.
