Here is the Carson City road report for the week of Sept. 23-29, 2024. Closures and lane restrictions are expected at the following locations due to road and utility work: — 2nd Street between Carson Street and Curry Street will be closed to westbound traffic from April 8, 2024, to June 30, 2025, for construction. Lane restrictions are expected at the following locations due to road/utility work: — Center Drive near the intersection of Topsy Lane will be reduced to a single lane from September 16, 2024, to November 26, 2024, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. — College Parkway near Research Way will have shoulder work from Monday – Wednesday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. — Curry Street between Park Street and Adams Street will be reduced to a single lane from Monday – Tuesday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. — Mallory Way near 800 Mallory Way will have reduced lanes Monday - Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. — North Ormsby Boulevard between Newman Place and Washington Street will have reduced lanes from September 16, 2024, to October 14, 2024, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. — Plaza Street near 7th Street and Fall Street will be reduced to a single lane on Monday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. — Topsy Lane near the Lyla Lane will be reduced to a single lane from September 16, 2024, to November 26, 2024, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Elsewhere, U.S. 95 Alternate is now open after temporarily being closed for Union Pacific Railroad rail bed replacement and upgrades. U.S. 95A was temporarily closed from Sierra Way north of Yerington to just south of Fort Churchill Road near Silver Springs beginning at 12 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. The highway reopened at approximately 8 p.m. Sept. 21 after Union Pacific Railroad replaced rail bed in two locations.
