A 42-year-old man was shot to death in Brooklyn early Sunday, police said. The victim was shot in the shoulder and arm on a residential block of row houses on Georgia Ave. near New Lots Ave. in East New York about 3:45 a.m., cops said. “I heard four gunshots. No commotion, no yelling, just four shots and I just moved to the back of the house,” said a neighbor who gave her name as Sabrina. “I was already up taking care of my baby and that just happened. It’s a good area. I’ve been here a long time. This is a shock.” Medics rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital but he could not be saved. His name was not immediately released. Neighbors said there was a party at the house where the shooting occurred. “They’re cool people,” Sabrina said of her neighbors in the home where the shooting happened. “They hang out with each other. They cook and they enjoy themselves … They weren’t bothering anyone. This is just out of the blue.” No arrests have been made. “It was like three gunshots I heard. I knew it was gunshots,” said a neighbor who declined to give his name. “I just tried to stay in my bed and stay away from it.” “This area is good,” he added. “I moved here a year ago. Stuff like this doesn’t usually happen. This is my first time hearing it.” The slaying marks the eighth homicide in Brooklyn’s 75th Precinct so far this year, a sharp drop from the 17 killings the precinct saw last year through Sept. 15.
