RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Happy first day of fall! We are going to feel like fall with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s all week long. It is another foggy start to the day. Some areas may see some dense fog so be extra cautious on the roads this morning. There is also a small risk of a few sprinkles mainly east of I-95 as a back door cold front sweeps through the area. Low clouds will hang around for the morning hours before the clouds slowly thin out. We should see some breaks of sunshine by the evening. Highs today will be in the upper 70s. Partly cloudy skies will be overhead tonight and overnight lows will drop into the low 60s. Mostly cloudy skies will be with us tomorrow with a few showers around. Most of these look to stay west of I-95. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s. We stay muggy for the work week with a few weak systems moving through that bring us a couple chances of rain. Isolated showers will be around on Tuesday with highs near the middle 70s. By Wednesday our rain chances increase slightly with a more scattered risk of showers across the area. Rain chances continue into Thursday with highs in the upper 70s. A lot of uncertainty remains in the forecast for the end of the week as we are watching the potential tropical system in the Gulf. Most of our weather models do have this system developing and moving north. If it does develop, its path and speed will impact our forecast greatly. Right now, it is looking like tropical moisture could move in next weekend bringing another wet weekend to the area.
