IMPD started it's weekend crackdown Friday night as the agency continues to ramp up its response to street takeovers and illegal drag racing.
A new proposal designed to help curb street takeovers is slated to be officially unveiled on Monday. If approved, the proposal would allow officials to impound cars involved in street takeovers. The proposed ordinance also calls for organizers, spectators and other participants involved in illegal street racing to be fined.
