RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Bier-Garden at Maymont kicked off this Saturday to celebrate the changing of the seasons with beer, food and live music. On Saturday, Sept. 21 starting at 11 a.m. people gathered at the Maymont Bier-Garden on the Carriage House Lawn for a German-style festival with craft beer and Bavarian specialties. PREVIOUSLY: Outdoor events coming to Richmond’s Maymont Park this fall 8News spoke with Parke Richeson -- President and CEO of Maymont Foundation -- about what the festival is and what it provides for the community. "Bier-Garden is a great way to join the world's festival of beer and outdoors for this time of year -- [which] just kicked off in Munich, Germany yesterday," Richeson said. "And so Maymont is joining the festivities and inviting everybody to come out. It means a lot to the community to have a place to gather and celebrate fall together."
