CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — An investigation continues after Cleveland County K-9 Dolar was found dead inside a hot car Thursday afternoon. "I'm reaching out to OSBI today to come out, come and do a outside investigation on that tragedy and one to make sure that there's if there's any, you know, criminal negligence." K-9 Dolar courtesy Cleveland County Sheriff's Office In a news release from the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, Dolar was found inside a unit while his assigned handler attended a training session. The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office says the deputy assigned to Dolar has been placed on administrative leave. "We're looking at our policies and procedures and of how this occurred and why it occurred and what we can do to make sure it never happens again," says Sheriff Amason. Dolar was a seven-year-old Labrador Retriever, joining the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office in 2020. The Sheriff's office says Dolar was "A crucial asset in various roles, including narcotics detection at the detention center." A memorial service is being planned to honor Dolar and his service to the community. Details have not yet been released by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.
