Sunny and hot for the first few days of fall in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Temperatures will be very warm under sunny skies for the first day of fall on Sunday.
Expect warm and mostly dry weather through Tuesday as high pressure dominates the area. Daytime highs will reach the low to mid-90s, with heat index values climbing into the low 100s. A few isolated showers may pop up during the hottest parts of the day, but overall, it will be mostly dry.
Looking ahead to mid-week, there's a chance that a tropical system could develop near the Yucatan Peninsula. Right now, there’s about a 70% chance of this system forming within the next week, and if it does, it could move into the Gulf of Mexico by the end of the week.
A frontal system is also expected to move into the area, which could increase rainfall chances by late week. There are still a lot of uncertainties, so stay tuned for updates on potential tropical development.
