LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Running back Jamarion Wilcox and wide receiver Dane Key led Kentucky to a 41-6 win over Ohio on Saturday at Kroger Field. The Wildcats accumulated almost 500 yards of offense as its defense scored on a pick six and recovered a Bobcats fumble to win the turnover battle. “I feel like the last couple weeks our guys have worked hard to get some thing corrected,” said Head Coach Mark Stoops. ‘They had the right mindset in their preparation.” Victory for Vandagriff Quarterback Brock Vandagriff was able to connect well with his targets versus Ohio. He was 19/27 with no interceptions and 282 passing yards. The Wildcats also capitalized on all five of their redzone trips with a score after not scoring a touchdown in two games. “We felt like if we were able to execute our plan we could get in the endzone,” said Vandagriff. The favorite target of the day was the former Frederick Douglass star, Key. Despite not getting in the endzone, the former Bronco had with 145 reception yards which led the team. “We’re really trying to keep our heads up and keep playing football,” said Key. “Coach (Daikiel) Shorts told us all week keep playing and the balls is going to find you. I feel like it did today.” Demie Sumo-Karngbaye continued his rushing prowess, but took a back seat on the stat sheet to Jamarion Wilcox, who led the team in rushing with 82 yards.
