A man was killed late Friday night when he was struck by a Coaster train near Morena Boulevard, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported. The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, was found by San Diego police and fire personnel upon arriving at the scene of the accident near the intersection of Morena Boulevard and Ingulf Street, Sheriff’s Sgt. Jason King said Saturday. He had been hit around 10:25 p.m. by a North County Transit District Coaster train and did not survive his injuries, King reported. The Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit, which looks into incidents occurring along the North County Transit routes, was asked to investigate. The Medical Examiner’s Office will make an identification of the man, pending notification of his family.
