Much needed rain is on the way, and right on cue, cooler temperatures arrive to kick off the first day of fall on Sunday. This evening a few showers will linger, and overnight scattered rain and a few thunderstorms will move through. Pockets of heavy rain and lighting can be expected. Lows fall into the 60s. A cold front will move in early Sunday, keeping the first half of the day rather soggy. Rain totals look to be highly varied, with some places only picking up a quarter to a half inch, while other places could see over an inch of rain. Hit-and-miss showers continue in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be cooler behind the front; as breezy winds turn out of the north, highs will only top out in the low 70s.Monday looks largely dry with some sunshine, but it will feel very fall-like with highs only topping out in the upper 60s.A few showers return on Tuesday as a low-pressure system passes just to the south.
