Our stretch of dry days finally came to an end on Friday, where for the first time in two weeks, the Fort Wayne International Airport recorded measurable rainfall. Some areas saw a good soaking from the showers and storms that moved through on Friday, while others did not see much rainfall at all. Unfortunately, the storms also caused some damage. Click the link below to learn more. Friday storms end dry spell and cause damage Temperatures have climbed back up into the 90s today, which is fitting for the last full day of summer! Look for mostly clear skies to become partly cloudy as the evening goes on. We'll then stay partly cloudy overnight, with low temperatures dipping into the lower 60s. By the afternoon, look for occasional rain showers and even a few thunderstorms to arrive. We'll take some widespread, more organized rainfall, even though rainfall totals will not be very heavy. High temperatures Sunday will reach the upper 70s around lunchtime and it will be a humid day. Look for most of the rain to wrap up by around midnight Sunday night. When all is said and done, rainfall amounts look to be up to around a half an inch. While not drought-busting, this will help. Any additional rain chances will depend on where potential tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico goes...stay tuned for updates.
