(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and Visit Pueblo have announced the winners of the 2024 Chili & Salsa Showdown, presented by Mission Foods. The event kicked off the 30th Annual Pueblo Chile & Frijoles Festival. This year, a record 140 entries came from across Colorado. Eight celebrity judges, including local news broadcasters and top chefs from the Rocky Mountain region, selected the winners. Judges selected the best green chili, red chili, and salsa in both commercial and noncommercial rounds, based on flavor, appeal, balance, ingredients, and texture. The winners for each round and category are: Commercial Green Chili 3rd Place- Prime on a Dime Green Chili 2nd Place- The Pepper Don Green Chili 1st Place ($500.00) - Romero’s Cafe Red Chili 3rd Place- Prime on a Dime Red Chili 2nd Place- Taco Casa Red Chili 1st Place ($500.00)- Cinfully Delicious Salsa 3rd Place- Romero's Cafe Salsa 2nd Place- Prime on a Dime Salsa 1st Place ($500.00)- Flavorful Feasts Non-Commercial Green Chili 3rd Place ($25.00)- Billy Bengston Green Chili 2nd Place ($50.00)- Victor Agena Green Chili 1st Place ($100.00)- Lori Morris Red Chili 3rd Place ($25.00)- Dion Vigil Red Chili 2nd Place ($50.00)- Camille Calderon Red Chili 1st Place ($100.00)- Shari Abeyta Salsa 3rd Place ($25.00)- Dean VanZandt Salsa 2nd Place ($50.00)- Ed Dunne Salsa 1st Place ($100.00)- George Lott Winners received a cash prize, certificate, Mission Foods swag bag, and the claim to fame.
