(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs Police (CSPD) responded to a report of an in-progress burglary on Friday, Sept. 20, in which the suspect, 33-year-old Heather McDaniel, entered a home and attacked a woman who lived there, according to CSPD. Around 7 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 2900 block of Del Mar Circle, near East Fountain Boulevard and South Circle Drive, said CSPD, where they were told that the suspect had climbed through a bedroom window into the home and attacked the occupant. The victim had suffered multiple injuries, including several lacerations. According to CSPD, officers found the suspect and placed her in custody. Both the suspect and the victims were taken to the hospital, after which the suspect was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on charges of attempted homicide and first-degree burglary.
