How to navigate the crowds during the second weekend of The Big E The Big E has been held on Memorial Avenue in West Springfield for the past 108 years and brings over a million visitors throughout the 17-day fair. Due to the increase in travel, you’ll want to give yourself extra time if you’re coming to The Big E or just need to get through this area of West Springfield. One of the most popular routes to The Big E is using the Memorial Bridge to the Memorial Avenue Rotary. There are three other ways to get there from the North End Bridge, such as: Take Route 5 South to the Memorial Avenue Rotary Take Park Avenue, down Union Street, and onto Route 147 Take Park Avenue, this time down to River Street, and then onto Route 147 Use Route 20 if you are coming from the West to take South Boulevard, down to River Street, and onto Route 147 straight to The Big E.
