The Miners football squad suffered their first loss of the season Friday night at Stansbury 14-10. Park City and running back Eli Warner struck first with a first quarter rushing touchdown, but Stansbury would equalize with one of their own to close the first half. The Miners tacked on a third quarter field goal from Tanner Pidwell, which was superseded by another Stansbury rushing touchdown in the fourth. Warner is now up to 15 touchdowns, and Pidwell 5 made field goals and 28 extra points.Park City is now 5-1 and 2-1 in regional play, which has them third in Region 10. They’ll return home next Friday to face Cottonwood at 7 p.m. Cottonwood enters that game 0-6, fresh off a blowout loss to Jordan Friday at home. Including the Cottonwood game, the Miners have four remaining regular season games, including two at home. Each game will be vital in the team’s chase for postseason seeding and home field advantage.
