EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two teenage girls were apprehended and charged for allegedly vandalizing the women's restroom at a City park, according to the Socorro Police Department (Socorro PD). Amelie Salinas, 17, and a 16-year-old female, who was not identified because she is a juvenile, were identified as the suspects and charged with graffiti with damage estimated at more than $100 and less than $750, according to Socorro PD. On Monday, Sept. 16 officers were dispatched to Bulldog Championship Park, located at 316 Buford, about reports of graffiti in the women's restroom. On Sept. 19 and Sept. 20, the two suspects were identified, then apprehended and charged. "Acts of vandalism like this are not tolerated in our community. We will continue working diligently to protect and maintain the integrity of our public spaces. We urge residents to report any suspicious activity so that we can act swiftly," Socorro Police Chief Robert C. Rojas said. To report suspicious activity, Socorro residents are encouraged to call (915) 858-9237 and for emergencies to call 911.
