ROCK HILL, S.C. – Rock Hill police are investigating the fatal shooting of a child that was playing with an unsecured firearm on Saturday morning. Police conducted an investigation after a young child arrived at a hospital in Rock Hill with an apparent gunshot wound. The shooting happened at a home on Barrow Street near Eastwood Drive.  Detectives said two children were playing with a firearm that was unsecured in the master bedroom allowing them to access it. The victim child was shot and died from the injuries sustained in the incident, police said. Police identified 39-year-old Kunle Laguda Jr. as the man responsible for leaving the firearm in a place where the children could reach it. Lagunda was arrested and taken to Rock Hill Jail. He was charged with Unlawful Neglect of a Child for placing the children at unreasonable risk of physical harm for having the firearm accessible. He was also forbidden of possessing a firearm and faces a charge for unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes
