BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPOUD) — U-High at Catholic High School is a game many fans circled on their calendars. Last year's meeting ended with U-High kicking a last-second field goal to win 31-30. It looked like another heavy-weight fight between the Cubs and Bears. Catholic is ranked third in Class 5A, and they just snapped St. Thomas More's 25-game winning streak. U-High was coming off a loss, but they battled powerhouse Rummel until the end. The eighth edition of the U-High and Catholic rivalry lived up to the hype. The Bears found the end zone on their opening drive with a Jayden Miles rushing touchdown. Catholic kept its foot on the gas, taking a 14-0 lead with seven minutes left in the first, behind a Turner Goldsmith rushing touchdown.  U-High didn't flinch, forcing the game into overtime, tied at 21-21. On the first play of OT, Cubs quarterback Emile Picarella hit Zay Martin for a touchdown. Bears had a chance to tie the game, but Luke Ewing ended all hope for Catholic with an interception to end the game. U-High won 27-21.  Ride Along: Catholic football coach talks about U-High rivalry Latest News Registered voters in Louisiana has grown every month since March Warrant issued in Texas for Louisiana rapper Boosie What is kratom, the herbal product banned in six states?
