HOPEWELL TWP. – Owen Lengle and his Hopewell Valley teammates followed the script perfectly. Come out quickly, take control and never look back. The Bulldogs scored on their first six possessions and cruised to a 45-12 win over Nottingham on Friday night on the turf at Ackerson Field in a West Jersey Football League Capitol Division game. The win lifts the Bulldogs to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the division and the Northstars fall to 0-4 and 0-2. “This was awesome,” said Lengle, who was on the receiving end of two Milan Desai touchdown passes. “It was about carrying over from a great win last week. We want to keep the train moving and we did exactly that, it was a great team win and we couldn’t have drawn it up any better.’’ This marked the fourth straight game the ‘Dawgs have scored more than 40 points. The defense and special teams helped a lot by forcing four turnovers, including two fumble recoveries by Luke Caldwell. The defense held the ‘Stars scoreless in the first half and allowed them just two first downs in the initial half. “Every week is a tough  week,’’ said Hopewell Dave Caldwell. “They just keep getting tougher and tougher and I think a lot of teams have us circled on their schedule. Nottingham is tough, physical, well-coached and they play hard.’’ Desai and Ben DeCore didn’t give Nottingham a chance right from the opening kickoff. They got the ball at 29 yard-line and in five plays went the length of the field with the final 38 yards coming on a pass from Desai to Lengle. “You have to come out and give your best every week,’’ said Lengle. “Anything can happen on any day. Our mission statement for the whole season is if we get the ball first we want to out and score and hit them quickly.’’ The Bulldogs did that and on the next Nottingham possession when Joe Demareski came up with an interception. A Desai to Justin Klotz TD toss of 10 yards made it 14-0 and then DeCore, who had 60 yards rushing in the quarter, made it 21-0  on a two-yard run. “We are very multiple on offense,’’ said Caldwell. “We have the ability to run the ball and to pass the ball. We have several weapons at running back and wide receiver and we have Milan (Desai) and he is like a coach of the field. It is a team effort and they’re excited about things.’’ Desai, who only played the first half, threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another. Hopewell scored four times in the second quarter. It started with a 27 yard field goal by Lengle, then in a span of two minutes and 43 seconds the Bulldogs scored three times thanks to a couple Northstars miscues. Luke Caldwell caught his first career touchdown — a 13-yard pass from Desai — Lengle caught one from 28 yards out and as time was running out Desai scored from the one to make it 45-0. Nottingham pushed two scores across in the second half. “I feel pretty good, but I don’t want to take away from the great team win,’’ said Lengle. “Everyone played amazing.’’ Nottingham (0-4) 0 0 6 6 – 12 Hopewell Valley (4-0) 21 24 0 0 -45 HV – Lengle 38 from Desai (Lengle kick) HV – Klotz 15 from Desai (Lengle kick) HV – DeCore 2 run (Lengle kick) HV – Lengle 27 field goal HV – Caldwell 13 from Desai (Lengle kick) HV – Lengle 28 pass from Desai (Lengle kick) HV – Desai 1 run (Lengle kick) N – Cassidy 37 run (kick failed) N – Carmichael 4 run (kick failed)
