Tropical development potential continues to increase
Sep 20, 2024
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The National Hurricane Center continues to highlight an area of potential development in the northwest Caribbean or southern Gulf over the next week now at 60%. This is an area that we will be watching over the next 7-10 days.
We continue to see indications of a developing system that will move north through the Gulf. This could be something that intensifies quite a bit next week.
Where this may go is still a question. Right now anybody from Lake Charles to the Florida panhandle should be watching this.
At this point all we can do is watch and wait. Any impacts to our area will come down to when and where any development takes place. Continue to be prepared and have supplies and plans ready should something move our way again.
