BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- South Park senior captain Adam Nunes went on a record-setting run Thursday night. Nunes rushed for 593 yards to break the New York State single-game mark in South Park's 55-28 win against Iroquois at All-High Stadium. Nunes also ran for seven touchdowns, tying him for the fourth-most in state history, and second in Western New York's record-book. Starting with an 80-yard touchdown on the opening drive, Nunes also scored on runs 65, 36, 61, 81, 93, and 41 yards in the what was the 100th career victory for South Park coach Tim Delaney. 4 games to watch: Ranked foes, unbeaten matchups in Week 3 The state record was 584 rushing yards set by Joe Benedict for Sandy Creek in 2016. The WNY record was 463 yards by Maryvale's Brooks Estarfaa in 2008. Nunes now leads WNY with 864 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns in three games for the unbeaten Sparks.
