BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- The Baton Rouge Police Department are investigating after a man was transported to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting at Coffee Bean Cafe on Coursey Boulevard on Thursday, Sept. 19. BRPD said it was an armed robbery and the suspect remains at large. Sources told BRProud that the victim is the owner's husband, but authorities have not confirmed this information. "It's confirmed that he was here to open up for the business," said Baton Rouge Police Chief Thomas Morse Jr. Morse said officials are reviewing surveillance footage to identify a possible suspect. "He had fled the area before officer's arrival but like I said we're going through a lot of video surveillance and hoping to track him down," said Morse. "We had some good samaritans stopping by that stop, and they also helped give aid and called 911," Morse said.
