BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- It's an exciting time for the Kern County Fair as it welcomes visitors for its first weekend this year. Kern County Fair Marketing Director Chelsea Roberts joined 17 News at Sunrise to talk about the newest attractions at this year's Kern County Fair. More from the 2024 Kern County Fair The Sea Lion Splash has been a big hit so far, Roberts said. They're cute and funny and are putting lots of smiles on kids' faces so far. Roberts said the Sea Lion Splash will only be at the fair through Sunday, Sept. 22 -- so catch them this weekend. The weather for the first two days of the Kern County Fair has been great for the big crowds. Roberts said crowds for Kool & The Gang and Josh Turner were huge. Lines formed outside the Budweiser Pavilion as soon as gates opened at 4 p.m. awaiting for Josh Turner's concert on Thursday.
