Police: 15yearold boy arrested after making social media post threatening DC schools

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a 15-year-old boy was arrested after making a social media post threatening D.C. schools.
On Sept. 19 at about 8 p.m., police were informed of an Instagram post showing pictures of weapons alongside a list of D.C. schools.
As a precaution, MPD increased police presence throughout schools in the District.

On Sept. 20, a 15-year-old boy of Brandywine, Md. was charged with Threats to Kidnap or Injure a Person.
Police said the teen found the picture online and posted it on his social media with a list of schools in the District.
The teen did not have a firearm.
Police said threats made to the school are taken seriously and to say something if you see something.
