WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The National Weather Service says Wichita's high temperature reached 102 degrees on Thursday.
The NWS says the temperature was 20 degrees above average and the second hottest it has been this late in the year since records began in 1888. The hottest was 103 degrees on Sept. 28, 1953.
The last time Wichita reached 100 degrees was back on Aug. 14.
