HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Gary Rome Hyundai hosted a pet vaccine clinic and a supply drive for Second Chance Animal Services. The clinic provided $5 rabies vaccinations, free distemper vaccinations, and $15 microchips, all to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of community pets. Vaccinations are important for protecting pets from deadly diseases, and this clinic brought those vaccinations right to the community. The clinic eased the stress of booking often expensive vet visits, and people appreciated this opportunity to protect their pets. "I don't want him to get sick, you know what I mean," said Sara Jones of Springfield, who brought her dog Brownie to today's clinic. "When they're outside they can step in anything, and if you have a dog that's sick and they step in it, and they don't have their shots, they're going to get it too." "Part of our goal is to keep pets in their homes with the families that love them," said Second Chance Animal Services Marketing Director, Diane Tilloston. "Also to stop the spread of disease, so the rabies, and distemper vaccines, which prevent parvo, are really important pieces in stopping disease." In a statement earlier this month, Gary Rome said, "We are all about animals at Gary Rome Hyundai and we are thrilled to be hosting another vaccine clinic to help even more pets. We strive to do the next right thing and lead by example." With this clinic, Gary Rome and Second Chance Animal Shelter are helping to make sure our furry friends stay safe and healthy.
