Will Seggos, a Kimball Junction resident who is the newest member on the Snyderville Basin Cemetery District Board, said his age and work experience will be assets in the position. The 30-year-old is a real estate agent with a background in technology and the hospitality industry. He is an associate with Windermere Real Estate Utah and an active member of the Park City Board of Realtors MLS committee; the founder of BrokerBrain AI, a platform to help real estate professionals streamline transactions with artificial intelligence; and the chief revenue officer of Verify4, which is designed to increase consumers’ access to credit opportunities.Seggos, who has a bachelor’s degree in business/managerial economics from Miami University, also works as a tech consultant and is a former technology director of View Hotels Group in Australia.“I just think I can bring a little bit of a different skill set and value to the board,” he said. “I have a very strong interest in using technology to help solve issues around the city.”He added that as one of the younger residents in Summit County, he can bring a different perspective to the board.Seggos is filling a spot created when board member Christa Cassidy resigned. The Summit County Council voted unanimously Wednesday to appoint him to serve until Dec. 31, 2026, when the term ends.“It’s an honor to serve on the Cemetery District Board,” Seggos said. “I look forward to giving back to our vibrant community that I’ve called home for the past five years.”The Snyderville Basin Cemetery District was formed to establish one or more public cemeteries to serve the growing and aging population in the unincorporated area. The Park City Cemetery has restrictions that prevent most people who lived outside city limits from being laid to rest there. The five-member board has prepared a tentative $495,000 district budget for 2025 and is starting the Truth in Taxation process. The cost to the average property owner if a tax is adopted has not been determined yet.The board’s preferred site is across from Run-A-Muk Dog Park on a parcel on the side of Olympic Parkway that is jointly owned by Basin Recreation and Summit County. A 10-acre portion within that parcel would be used for the cemetery.Seggos said he likes that location.“I think people generally want to keep that open space but a cemetery seems to be a good way to balance that growth,” he said.In addition, if the district approves a property tax, Seggos thinks the cost would be marginal.Seggos said he feels a deep connection to the local community. “I love this county and I want to help any way I can,” he said. The post New Cemetery District board member brings tech skills to position appeared first on Park Record.
