HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 63-year-old Henrico County woman is dead after police say she was hit by a car in a parking lot on West Broad Street on Wednesday. At around 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the 11400 block of West Broad Street for a reported crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived at the scene, they found 63-year-old June Eades Heesen, of Henrico, with serious injuries. According to police, Heesen was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where she later died due to her injuries the next day. A preliminary investigation indicates Heesen was walking across a parking lot in the area on West Broad Street when she was hit by a Nissan Altima attempting to make a left turn from a parking lot row towards the exit of the shopping center. 45-year-old Norfolk man hit, killed on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield According to police, the driver of the Nissan remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities. Crash Team investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash -- however, police said speed, alcohol and drugs are all not factors.
