HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Division of Fire is finalizing plans for its new $13.3 million Eastover Gardens Firehouse 6, expected to open in 2026. According to Henrico County, the new station will be a 16,273-square-foot facility built on a 4-acre landscape near Millers Lane and Gay Avenue in eastern Henrico. It will sit almost a half mile west of the already existing Firehouse 6, which originally opened in 1968 on Laburnum Avenue. Plans for Henrico's new Eastover Gardens Firehouse 6. The new station is estimated to cost $13.3 million -- a slightly higher price tag than initially reported by the county's Board of Supervisors in August. It will feature three bays for vehicles and equipment, a day room, a kitchen, bunk rooms, offices and exercise rooms.
