EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- In this week's episode of There's Nothing to Do in El Paso, Ian Roth and Karla Draksler try out a yoga class at Surya Yoga in West El Paso. Owner Morgan Mazza says yoga is for anyone and everyone, no matter your physical fitness or age. "We have children who take classes here, all the way to 85 years old," Mazza said. She explained many start yoga for the physical benefits but this practice also teaches mindfulness and spatial awareness around your body. "You start to pay attention how you are in your body, which then allows you to begin to notice your reactions both physically, emotionally and you start to notice what your habits might be," she said. The most important thing you need to know before you start is which class to take. Mazza suggests starting with their foundation classes and moving on to more advanced ones. They offer three classes a day during weekdays in different time slots as well as two classes on the weekend. Surya Yoga also started hosting international Yoga retreats several years ago that include a week of yoga practice in scenic places such as Peru, the Caribbean, Iceland, Spain, and Italy. You can find the class schedule on their website.
