BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- After beginning the day with showers, we're slowly clearing out as the second in a set of two storms for the week pushes out of California. Expect valley highs in the low 80s today, with upper 80s in the Kern River Valley and low 90s in the Kern Desert. The south mountains enjoy mild mid to upper 70s today. Building high pressure tomorrow sets us up with a sunny and stable pattern for the weekend ahead, and that mean the beginning of a new warming trend. Expect seasonal low 90s in the valley tomorrow and Sunday, which is the first day of Fall! We'll celebrate by climbing to the mid-90s early next week, but for now it looks like we can keep the 100s at bay. Keep in mind the latest day Bakersfield has ever recorded a 100 degree temperature is October 17th, so we still have about another month of possibilities to see those triple digits.
