BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Fair is the Super Bowl for kids in the Future Farmers of America program. For Alissa Cisneros, auction day might be met with tears. "I'm already attached but at the end of it, you know what you signed up for," High School senior Cisneros said. Rescued Sea Lions exhibit at Kern County Fair It would be hard to spend a summer with Buddy the goat and not get attached. It's been said there's not a dry eye at auction time. Alissa has stayed the course nonetheless. Buddy is the second goat she's raised. She had no idea how much she'd fall in love with this program. "It creates a family just between other members and FFA as well." Instead of going to the mall and catching a movie, FFA students hang out at the farm, taking care of their animals. This program leads students to much more down the line. "I'm actually thinking of becoming an Ag teacher that's one of my first picks and if that doesn't work out, then a vet tech…this is what really got me started and got be thinking about my future careers," Alissa added.
