Mower County Distinguished Citizens will honor individuals who live or work in Mower County for their commitment and contribution both professionally and personally. This event returns for a second year to honor the following individuals: • Dan Day, Assistant Director of Internal Audit Hormel Foods, Austin • Dewy Schara, Principal at IJ Holton Intermediate School, Austin • Wendel Sprung, owner of Wendel’s Auto Repair in Rose Creek • Scott Wiechmann, retired, Austin The Twin Valley Council will hold a dinner that’s open to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Austin, with social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m and dinner to start at 6 p.m. The presenting sponsor for the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie No. 703. A buffet will be served and a cash bar will be available. The first drink will be provided by our presenting sponsor. Tickets are required for the event and are on sale now at www.twinvalleybsa.org/mcdc — $40 per seat or table of six for $240. Ad sponsors are also being sought for $370 which includes a half-page ad in the printed program, recognition at the event and a reserved table of six.
