2 MSCS teens charged with bringing ammunition, airsoft pistol to school

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Two Memphis Shelby County School teenagers were detained on Friday morning for bringing weapons to school, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
A 16-year-old Southwind High School student was detained and charged with bringing ammunition and fireworks to school.
A 13-year-old Highland Oaks Middle School student was also detained and charged with bringing an airsoft pistol to school.
Westside Middle School closed after staff member shot
The SCSO says both teens were taken to the Youth Justice and Education Center.
“This type of behavior will not be tolerated, and we are committed to ensuring the safety of our community. I'm asking parents to have an immediate conversation with their children about the seriousness of this foolish behavior," said Sheriff Floyd Bonner.
