JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) A Jefferson City woman remained in the Cole County Jail on Friday after her indictment last week on a manslaughter charge for leaving an unnamed victim to die in a hot car. A grand jury indicted Tre'Davyah A. Edwards on Sept. 11 with a single count of involuntary manslaughter, according to online court records. The indictment doesn't give any details about how the death happened or the victim's age but says the death occurred on Aug. 17. The victim was female, according to the indictment. The high temperature in Jefferson City that day was 89 degrees, according to National Weather Service records. IndictmentDownload A no-bond warrant was initially issued for Edwards' arrest, court records show. Her bond has since been reduced to $100,000. The case was unsealed after the arrest warrant was served this week, said Cole County Prosecutor Locke Thompson. Edwards' lawyer appeared in court on her behalf Thursday, records show. The punishment for first-degree involuntary manslaughter in Missouri is three to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
