Police searching for man escaped custody in North Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Thursday night search for a person who escaped police custody has extended into Friday in Fayetteville, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says.
According to deputies, the person in custody escaped around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night while at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Deputies have not publicly identified the subject as they continue their search.

The search has expanded as it continues this morning into the areas within the hospital, as well as Bragg Boulevard and Sycamore Dairy Road.
