Linda Buchanan, Catmandu Catmandu’s cat of the week is a very special guy. At first glance, Rigby looks like a garden variety black cat. He is not. He is a Bombay, with all the amazing physical and personality traits of the breed. He is big, strongly built, sleek, with a distinctive head and face. His short black coat is shiny and soft. Not quite 7 years old, this big handsome boy is friendly, affectionate and loyal. He likes lots of attention and pets, and will follow you around the house. He also really likes to help with any office work; keyboard work is his favorite. He will happily sit on your lap and allow you to pet him for as long as you are willing. His desire for attention makes it hard for him to live with other cats. He is possessive; ensuring other felines stay away from “his” people. He would do best as the only cat. However, he seems to be okay with a cat-friendly dog and doesn’t see them as competition. He likes respectful children and people of all ages. Rigby is an indoor only cat, although he does love going out on a catio where he can have fresh air but stay safe from predators and other outside dangers. He does have one bad habit. He is a plant eater. He cannot resist chewing and eating any plant he can get his mouth on. Given that the majority of plants are toxic to cats, his new home must be plant free or plants must be out of reach. If you are looking for an exceptional guy that will be your one and only cat, come by and meet Rigby this weekend.
