Community can register for East Baton Rouge mayoral candidate forum: What to know

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Registration has opened for an East Baton Rouge Parish mayoral candidate forum held on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the North Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce and the Baton Rouge North Economic Development District, will host the 2024 Mayoral Candidate Forum "Moving Forward, Together."
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Southern University Valdry Center for Philanthropy. Registration is required to attend.
Mayoral candidates, including current mayor Sharon Weston-Broome, along with Ted James, Sid Edwards, Ryan Carter, William Roundtree and Steve Myers, will present their platforms. Topics will include infrastructure improvements, business growth and economic resilience.
The forum is an opportunity for the community to engage with the candidates before the November election.
